REPORTS TO: Classroom Teacher/Site Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma at a minimum; college degree preferred
2. Experience working with high school aged students in some capacity a plus
3. Have or can obtain a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate

JOB DUTIES:

1. Participate in system and local efforts of professional learning; Paraprofessionals will utilize and implement skills and best practices obtained in professional learning in the classroom to raise the achievement of students.
2. Assist students in subject matter, utilizing various methods.
3. Conduct small group or individual reviews as assigned by classroom teacher and/or site director.
4. Promote student engagement in learning by continually assessing student abilities as it relates to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
5. Effectively manage the behavior of learners to ensure the environment is conducive to the learning process and assist in the management of student behavior in other parts of the school and school grounds.
6. Support students with encouragement.
7. Utilize time effectively
8. Exhibit a professional attitude and demeanor at all times.
9. Perform other duties as assigned
